  5. Mathstarters was created for children who just can't get
  6. enough of math problems.  This version provides 
  7. unlimited addition and subtraction problems of single
  8. and double digit calculations and makes a great drill
  9. tool, similar to flash cards.
  10.  
  11. Sorry for the size of the executable, but I haven't had the 
  12. time to rewrite in a more suitable language. 
  13.  
  14. Mathstarters is a DOS program. To run, simply type Mathstarters and <Enter> 
  15. from the DOS prompt.
  16.  
  17. Toggle keys at the top of the screen allow you to:
  18.  
  19. F1 - Get Help for the current problem.
  20.      I debated about providing the answer in the help screen. Your
  21.      feedback regarding the pros and cons with your student would be 
  22.      helpful.  This version provides the answer, as you will see.
  23.      Also, for the single digit addition/subtraction, the help message
  24.      uses a basic method for adding and subtracting-using fingers.
  25.      If anyone has any suggestions about other ways to help the
  26.      student, I would love to hear them.

  28.      In any case, it is probably not a good idea to tell your student
  29.      about this key until they need it, and even then, not to let them
  30.      rely on it without trying to solve themselves first.

  32. F5 - This is a toggle key (alternates between choices each time hit)
  33.      and allows student to alternate between addition and subtraction
  34.      problems.

  36. F6 - Toggle key for the Sound (alternates between On/Off)
  37.  
  38. F7 - Toggle key for difficulty level (alternates between 1 and 2 digit
  39.      problems)
